The “I Got U” 5K Run is making its mark in Houston, Texas communities. Our goal with this initiative is to present an informative, interactive, healthy, family friendly fundraising event every last Saturday of the month providing information and services to help residents in need of mental and holistic health assistance.

This ongoing project is a collaboration between two organizations whose leaders/founders happen to be sisters. Zoë Jackson-Jarra of “Zoë I Got U Day” , an event production company with a focus on philanthropy, holistic health and community enrichment. And Dr. Valerie D. Jackson of “Solutions for Better Living” which integrates health with a spotlight on mental health as well as education services for families living in poverty. Both organizations address their initiatives with passion offering something to those willing to support these initiatives and to those who are their recipients.

Our 1st successful launch of the “I Got U” 5K Run fundraising event was presented at Buffalo Bayou Park.  Through its efforts we were able to contribute financial donations to two deserving organizations under the leadership of holistic mentor “Sunshine" and Executive Director Deloyd Parker, Jr. of S.H.A.P.E. Community Center. Our 2nd scheduled run took place at

MacGregor Park on Saturday, February 27th at 8:00am. It was as successful as the 1st where we were able to, once again, get the community active running and walking, highlight one of Houston’s revitalized parks and fundraise. The beneficiary of which was Miss Rivis Husband of "Heal Thyself Holistic Spa" rivishusband@sbcglobal.net  .

The 3rd "I Got U" Movement 5K Run was held at Houston's Hermann Park, and brought out new faces that had not participated previously much to the delight of event organizers, Zoë Jackson-Jarra and Dr. Valerie D. Jackson.

The overall goal is for each of us to live by this motto. “Help Somebody, Love Somebody, Tell Somebody “I Got U” and demonstrate it by doing something for those in need. We are proud to represent this message in all that we do and look forward to all of the support from those who are able.

The "I Got U" 5K Walk/Run w/Zoë was a success. Thank you to all of the participants, for the love, support,  prayers and to God who made it all possible. The "I Got U" Movement, however, continues. We made great strides with the donations/contributions, but more is needed to help more people. Proceeds collected for and from the "I Got U" 5K Walk/Run w/Zoë event will now be used to benefit many others in this season of giving. Thank you, again, to everyone for opening up your hearts and letting your love shine through!!!

People are in need 365 days a year, and we’re working every day alongside great organizations all over the world. So, anytime you’re feeling charitable, please give, and become a partner in this effort. The motto of our movement is “Help somebody, Love somebody. Tell somebody “I Got U”, and demonstrate it by doing something for them”, and is the foundation on which “Zoë, I Got U” Day was built and why 2 proclamations were issued for it by the cities of Houston, and Port Arthur, Texas, and is still gaining accolades and respect. You’re important donation will help someone in need. Donate today. Someone will be helped today.

1st "I Got U" Movement 5K Run 11.14.2015

Welcome to the "I Got U" Movement

There is much power in a name. “Zoë”, meaning abundant life, exemplifies the essence of Zoë Jackson-Jarra.  To know her, is to absolutely love her.  Zoë has this unique way of making everyone in her life feel as though they have their own place in her heart that no one else can fill.  She not only makes people feel special, but feel like they have a voice, a gift, a talent, and a present to share with this world.  That’s who Zoë is.

In July of this year, Zoë was honored by the city of Houston for 25 years of service in arts, music, fashion, and community outreach.  This celebration united all of her many family, friends, god-children, and industry peers.  Zoë vowed to continue her work in efforts to make Houston and the global community a better place by sharing her gifts, talents, and love.

By September, Zoë was reacquainted with a sickness that once had her disabled…lupus.  She immediately went from traveling, attending various events (including New York fashion week) and styling her many clients, to barely being able to speak, walk, or drive.  Her energy and zeal had been zapped by this disease.  How is it possible that one day a person can be alive and well, and then the next day, be disabled and ill?  Life.  The answer is life.  Life has a way of bringing many trials and unfortunate circumstances our way.  It is our choices and decisions that determine the outcome.

Zoë made a decision that lupus would not take control of her body.  She knew she had the power, the power to determine her outcome.  Although lupus brought her rashes all over her body (including her face), lack of sleep, low energy, lack of appetite, excruciating pain in her joints and muscles, hair loss, extremely low white blood cell count (which directly impacted her immune system), night sweats, and a host of many other uncomfortable symptoms, Zoë remained hopeful, prayerful, and resilient.  In the midst of her pain, Zoë
continued to care for her immediate family.

One night, while in the hospital, Zoë was reminded of all of the goodness and grace that God has given her throughout her life.  God reminded Zoë
of her purpose and calling, to spread love and lend a helping hand to those in need.  She was reminded of the lyrics to her song, “I Got U.” The words in this song and Zoë’s lupus recovery revived the “I Got U” movement.  “I Got U” was released on Itunes earlier this year and the movement is just getting started!

Today, with the help of her holistic mentors and doctors, Zoë is recovering and healing.  She still has some ways to go, but she has committed herself to the “I Got U” movement.  Join the movement today!
Please make a donation to the movement.  We will inspire and ignite a fire into everyone around the world to move to action to help each other.
